About Me
Hello! My name is Sara, and I am 19 years old from Jackson, New
Jersey. Currently, I am a sophomore, online student at West Virginia
University pursuing a degree in integrated marketing communications
(IMC), with a minor in sports communications. As you can probably tell by
my choice in minor, I love watching sports in my spare time. My family
and I enjoy going to events like hockey games and NASCAR races, and
even some of my old high school’s football games. My ultimate goal is to
eventually have a career in marketing for a sports team.
Throughout my academic career, I have been a part of
extracurriculars like Key Club and choir. Key Club is an international
service organization for high school students, where we participated in a
large range of community service programs to benefit our local area.
Some of these activities included cleaning trash from the beaches,
running fundraisers for our local food bank and senior center, and holding
an annual blood drive for the Red Cross. Another community service initiative I was a part of was an autism resource and awareness fair at my local library. We had different events for parents and families of recently diagnosed children where they would be able to find information and resources to help their kids. It was a great experience getting to hang out with the kids for the day and hear from experts on the subject. I was also a choir member for eight years, spanning from fifth grade until my high school graduation. This has allowed me the opportunity to perform at local events as well as across the northeastern United States. My choir had the unique honor of performing in New York City at St. Patrick's Cathedral and St. Paul's Chapel a few times, as well as having the opportunity to attend a broadway vocal lesson with the cast of Once On This Island.
In my personal life, I love to travel. Some of my favorite trips include Daytona Beach, Florida where we saw the NASCAR race at Daytona International Speedway and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee where we were able to go hiking, horseback riding and zip-lining. We also used to rent a motor home and go camping at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with some friends every July. Next on my list would be a trip to Colorado to visit family and maybe do some skiing. I also enjoy almost any type of live music. I am a big country music lover, so my mom and I try to make it to a few concerts each summer, and we always have a great time. Some of my personal favorite shows included Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley and Morgan Wallen.
